The American Kennel Club (AKC) offers many different activities that you can engage in with your dog and earn titles, many of these without going to a dog show to compete.  Kokua Dog Training offers instruction for many of these activities.  Debi is a certified evaluator for the American Kennel Club for all of the activities listed below as well as a certified judge for Farm Dog, Retrieve Tests and Temperment Tests.

Training your dog to earn titles is fun!  While the title is fun to earn and you get to show off your and your dog’s hard work, the real benefit comes from the time you spend and the engagement with your dog.  It builds a great relationship of trust and mutual understanding. 

• Canine Good Citizen:  There are 4 different levels of this title available
• Trick Dog:  There are 5 different levels of this title available
• Fit Dog:  There are 3 different levels of this title with more being added
• Farm Dog:  This is similar to the CGC, but focuses on a dog being in control in a farm environment as opposed to being out in public in town 
• Retrieve Test:  There are 4 levels of titles available.  This is only offered at AKC Sanctioned shows.
• AKC Tempermemt Test:  My instruction is designed to help you help prepare your dog to pass the AKC Temperment Test, which evaluates 6 different areas of temperament response in the dog.  This test is only offered at AKC Sanctioned dog shows. Hilo and Oahu have these shows.
