AKC Farm Dog
Your dog may respond beautifully to cues at home or on neighborhood walks, but how would he handle a bustling farm environment? There is an incredibly fun way to find out: by preparing him for a Farm Dog Certified test.
Open to all breeds, this evaluation involves performing a series of twelve real-world exercises typical of farm life. These safe, structured tasks include:
- Demonstrating polite focus and composure in close proximity to penned livestock
- Jumping and maintaining a steady stay atop hay or straw bales
- Confidently walking across unusual terrain and surface changes
- Leaping cleanly over fallen logs and basic natural obstacles
Please note that There is absolutely no herding involved. Instead, the goal is simply to assess your companion’s everyday self-control, environmental confidence, and foundational trust in you as his handler.
